Do these two things if you’re downsizing and selling your home.

Downsizing can be a difficult and overwhelming process, especially when it comes to preparing your home for sale. With the accumulation of years of memories and belongings, it can be tough to know what to keep, what to donate, and what to sell. To help you with this, I’m sharing a few simple steps you can take to help make the process of downsizing and selling your home smoother and more successful:

1. Work with a professional stager. A stager will give you a clear understanding of what items to put away and what to get rid of. In addition, the stager will provide you with a blueprint on how to best present your home to potential buyers. You may also want to consider a garage or estate sale. We know great estate sale companies and can refer them to you if that's something you're considering.

2. Make minor home improvements to help freshen up the property. This may include fixing wood rot, repainting walls, and updating landscaping. However, it's important to keep in mind that major renovations may not always be necessary or cost-effective, especially if you're planning to move soon. We know many vendors who can help you with this, and there are a lot of things that we can do on the front end to prepare your home, even if you are months down the road from wanting to get your property on the market.
