Here are three tips for finding an agent for your new-built purchase.

Today I’m joined by one of our top agents, Kristin Collier. It’s currently a very exciting time to build a home that fits you. So Kristin is going to walk us through a few points to consider about real estate agents when buying new construction:

1. Have an agent who is advocating for you. Builders have agents on staff that are working for them and won’t necessarily look out for your best interests. Having an agent there to represent you and keep your investment secure is crucial.

2. Have an agent who knows about incentives. Many builders have incentives and promotions for buyers, but some aren’t made public. Your agent needs to know which questions to ask and save you as much money as possible.

3. Have an agent who understands new-build contracts. This is likely the most important aspect to consider when looking for an agent when buying a new construction home. Contracts are a critical part of a real estate transaction, and the new-built contract is different from a resale contract. There are multiple incentives, inspection periods, and other moving parts that are essential to your home build that an agent needs to know.

There’s more to it than just these three points, but we like to keep our blogs short. So give us a call or visit our website if you want to know more or have additional questions. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
