A few things to think about before you rent Airbnbs.

Before you purchase an investment property to rent out as an Airbnb, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind:

In Orange and Seminole Counties, very little short-term rental zoning is given out. The minimum lease has to be seven months, meaning you can’t rent a property by the day or the week. That makes it hard to do an Airbnb; your neighbors could call you into the county, which can levy fines.

The majority of the investors we see renting out Airbnb’s are south of Disney World in Polk and Osceola Counties, which are admittedly great areas for it since people are vacationing down there.

“The minimum lease must be seven months, meaning you can’t usually rent by the day or week.”

However, there are a few communities in Orange County that do give out short-term rental zoning, so before you decide to rent one out, give us a call. We want to make sure that you’re actually able to do so.

We can also help you find property managers to rent out your property. Many people run their own Airbnb’s, but they often need help. I strongly urge you to consider hiring a property manager because rentals are an unregulated industry here in Central Florida; you don’t have to have a license to do it, and there are many fly-by-night companies out here.

We’ve vetted some great vendors over the years, so if you need any assistance or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’d love to help you.
